First my World Cup 2014 idea and afterwards I'll share and promote inspiring entrepeneurship

The hidden secret behind National Teams and why you should put your money on Russia for the 2014 World Cup (full match prediction model included)

Yesterday I played football here in the Netherlands at a park. It was sunny (not bad), almost no dog poop (not bad at all), I did not score any goal (unusual) and I’m still aching with muscle pain.

No big news there. The big news is that it helped to prove a theory I have about World Cup Championships.

Two questions for you:

–          Are the few friendly matches before a World Cup enough to fully prepare a winning team?

–          Is it possible to create team routines when there is no time for it?

When I was playing in the park I was a new player in a team that already had some routines. It took the entire game for me to understand in which position to play, and the team also took time to include me in their routines.

It’s true that I play like a one-legged pirate who thinks he’s Pirlo, but every national coach has the same problem: how to build and setup a winning team with so little time?

The solution is easier than you think: cheating!

Why not choose a large group of players from an already winning club and use their existing routines built over an entire season? Easy!

I see you have doubts…Let’s see the composition of, for example, the last 2 World Cup winning teams:

Winner 2010 Spain: 7 players from Barcelona, 5 players from Real Madrid.

Winner 2006 Italy: 5 players from Juventus, 5 players from Milan.

Vicente del Bosque, coaching Spain for the last 6 years, can say to his players: “Hey, just do what you usually do” and still win Cups after Cups.

Based on this assumption, I’ve prepared a straightforward prediction for each World Cup 2014 game.

The teams are ranked by players from the same club: the more you have, the more ranking points you’ll own. And you know who’s on the top 6?

That’s right, the eternals Spain, Germany, Italy and England are there, but also some surprises, like Mexico and Russia.

And Russia has the biggest ranking, being by this model, the future winner of the World Cup 2014.

And since we are at this, here are the semi-finals and final predictions:

To make it short, the Quarter-Finals will be England against Germany and Spain against Russia.

The final will be Germany against Russia.

In fact I’m going to bet right now on Russia and win 91 times my euros!!

Crazy right? Maybe not. According to this model, Brazil should have won Croatia and it did.

Either way, apart from the limitations (win/lose situation only, exposure to big leagues neglected, different climate neglected, using the full roster, etc.), by the high ranking team names involved, something seems to be seriously going on.

You can also find the match predictions for all games below.

Let me know your way to predict the winners and in the end let’s see who got the highest number of games right 🙂

Enjoy the World Cup and go Portugal!
